About Answer ALS
Pearl Jam is offering this experience in support of Answer ALS and their friend, Steve Gleason. Steve is a former NFL icon, diagnosed with ALS 7 years ago, who continues to inspire the world with his efforts. One such effort is Answer ALS. Answer ALS is the single largest and most comprehensive ALS research effort in history.
There are an estimated 30,000 people living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or ALS in the United States and 500,000 globally at any given time. And, there is no known cause or cure. It is widely believed that ALS is not one disease, but many distinct variations. The goal of Answer ALS is to identify the types of ALS that will lead to personalized treatments and a cure.
Pearl Jam has strongly supported Steve’s efforts to help people diagnosed with ALS, live productively and with purpose and now they have joined forces to raise funds and help bring an end to the disease.
